Dear Mr. President,
We, the people, would like the government of the United States of America to get us on the "right" road to prosperity.
1. Buy our credit card debt from the financial institutions and allow the American people to repay their debt to the government at a substantially lower rate than we are currently being charged by the banks.
2. In doing so, the banks would have funds immediately for lending to businesses. "Let the credit flow".
3. Business would then be able to begin hiring once again.
4. The people would have more money to purchase items.
5. The people would be able to begin saving once again.
As it stands now, we the people are just getting by and we are slowly being drowned by the very financial institutions you are lending "our" money to throw away on big bonuses, etc.
Who is to say these financial institutions will not file for bankruptcy and put "we the people" as one of the parties they owe money. What can "we the people" do about it? Absolutely nothing.
We're stuck owing the government (higher taxes) and we derive no benefit. What is the justice in that?
PLEASE RETHINK YOUR DECISIONS.
