CHRISTMAS HARD CANDY
FROM OUR HOME TO YOURS, MERRY CHRISTMAS
INGREDIENTS

2 cups sugar
2/3 cups light corn syrup
3/4 cup water
1 dram Cinnamon Flavoring (or your favorite flavoring)
Red Food Coloring
Powdered Sugar (Optional)

PREPARATION

Mix first three ingredients in a large saucepan.  Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.  Boil, without stirring, until temperature reaches 310 degrees F or until drops of syrup form hard, brittle threads in cold water.  Remove from heat.

After boiling has ceased, stir in flavoring and coloring.  Pour onto lightly greased cookie sheet or aluminum foil (lightly covered with powdered sugar).  Cool and break into pieces. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired.  Store in airtight containers.  (Makes 2 pounds)
